About Me
My name is Rachel McShane. I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in 2017 with a BA in English, and a minor in writing and literature (because that degree in English just wasn't enough). I attended Texas A&M University-Commerce, where I received my MA in English and a Studies in Children's and Adolescent Literature Graduate Certificate. I currently teach English at TAMUC and am studying there to receive my PhD in English, with a focus on Composition and Rhetoric. Along with Children's/Adolescent literature and Composition and Rhetoric, I am also very interested in Native American studies and Women's studies.
When I am not studying or working (which is rare), I like to read, write, play music, hang out with my husband Brian, and play with my dachshund Poirot. I am obsessed with sketch comedy, True Crime, Paul Simon, and sushi, and I hope to someday own a large bullmastiff named Captain Hammer or Mal (yes, those are both Nathan Fillion characters).
